The Shoe Is On The Other Foot

Do you shop at Payless Shoe Source?

Should I?

I hadn't set foot in a Payless in 8-10 years. Until yesterday.

Sometimes I have a hard time finding shoes for my kids. After striking out (again), and figuring 'it's just dress shoes for Isaac', I caved and stopped by Payless, and found just what we needed.

I also found a lot of other cute shoes for Maddie, but didn't yet buy them.

Should I?

The shoes looked pretty decent.

What do you think?

Have (Another) Laugh On Me

Geez I'm a dork.

A couple of weeks ago, Isaac and I needed to make treats for Pack Meeting with an Olympic theme. Most of the images that I pulled up at Yahoo were basic/typical Olympic rings.

Isaac and I even paused for a moment to discuss which image we liked best.

(dork. dork. dork.)

It wasn't until today, when I made my previous Olympic post, that I pulled up the same Yahoo images and discovered what both Isaac and I had been looking at.

Yes, my friends. Condoms. My son and I were checking out condoms.

Would You Go?

The 2008 Olympics are 30 days away.

If your pocket was full of cash and a passport, would you go?

I don't mean to sound small, naive, or even narrow minded, but I'm not sure that I would.

I have this sense of vulnerability, a feeling of uncertainty... will there be another earthquake? Is the security adequate? Would I come home with lung disease after breathing their highly polluted air?

(yes, I realized that our air isn't all that great)

I'm (mostly) sure that all will be well. It might be the best ever Olympics. I hope it is.

And I'll be watching from the comfort (and safety) of my couch.

I Wish Darlene Could Stop By

I haven't watched her show since I posted about me and my TV train wrecks. I guess it was just a passing fling. I'm sure it's not her first. Ahem.

I'll tell you what I am watching: The Big Bang Theory. That show is adorable, and what originally drew me in is David from Roseanne.

Did any of you see tonight's rerun? With Sheldon and his congestion and his germaphobia-ness? Remind you of anyone?

I'm the Chandler from one crowd and the Sheldon from another.

Hmmmmm...

If anything was going to get me out to a midnight showing it would be this.
